With the popularity of online gaming, good gaming laptops are something that is in high demand.  The specs that people look for are not necessarily what someone who does not play games online or with their laptop seek.  If you plan on using your laptop for gaming, you are going to need to know what to look for.

The first thing that you are going to need is a fast processor.  Memory is also going to be very important for gaming.  Both of these elements go hand in hand and if you have one but not the other, your machine may not give you the gaming experience that you seek.

For best results, you will need a processor of at least 2GHz Intel Core.  In addition to that, you are also going to need at least 4GB RAM.  While you will want a hard drive with large storage capabilities, it is not necessary for a good gaming experience.  The reality of it is that you can pick up an external drive later on, but the games specifically need these two elements to run properly and ensure that you are able to play the games to their fullest.

Another feature that you want to look for in the best gaming laptops is screen size.  Anything less than 15.4 inches is a complete waste of time.  In order to get the full affect, you will want to see as much of the game view as is possible and smaller screens make for difficult viewing.  You can of course adjust the resolution on the smaller models, but it is just not the same as seeing the games on larger screens.

Something that you are going to have to deal with is a laptop that is a little heavier.  Laptops for gaming tend to be on the heavy side and you are hard pressed to find one that is under 7 pounds.  If they are, they often lack the components that are necessary for a quality gaming experience.  This weight is something that is not often a problem for most gamers, but something that you should be aware of none the less.

One feature that is of the utmost importance is going to be the graphics that are installed in the computer.  Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M is what you will find on the most highly rated laptops for gaming, but you will pay for that.  Nvidia has other less expensive options that are extremely good and much more affordable.  Do your homework in this area as you can have a machine that has everything else, but skimps in this area, and your gaming will not be nearly as good as you would like it to be.

Finding good gaming laptops will have you searching for machines that are much different from the standard laptop.  You can expect to pay a little more than the stock laptop that you will find both online and in storefronts.  However, what you will get is a gaming laptop notebook that will far exceed the gaming experience that you would otherwise get.  You will find that those couple extra hundred is money well spent.
